…margin, rest, security and stability?
An interesting question in Timothy Ferris’ book, “The 4-Hour Work Week,” is this: “Do you want a million dollars–or just the life that you perceive a million dollars would bring?”
I know we should rest in faith on God alone. It’s difficult, some times. Having money in the bank makes it easier to rest, because there’s a number you can look at.
Sometimes, taking every thought captive and “resting” can be difficult work.
One good thing about having a plausible promise and executing on it diligently is that you know when you’ve done well, done enough, and it’s time to carve out time for margin and rest.
Then, we have to let God carry our worries and fears, and rest in Him. It’s a spiritual discipline that is well worth learning.
