Thank you for this video! Well done.

Is it possible to get permission to use this video? I work for the World Mission Dept. of the Church of God (Holiness), and a video like this would be great to challenge people in PR services.

Thank you,

Ashlee

I am getting refined directions on Terms of Use from our Communications department, which I will post here. In the meantime please write the MUP Director of Communications, Laura Humphries, at ldh@gcpost.net for further information.

I love the video, but I wish that someone was READING the text. It is quite small at times (when seen from a distance, like in church) AND, more importantly, it does not cater for an increasingly non-reading population. As for those who CANNOT read … They are left out altogether on this video’s very important message. I want to use it on Sunday in my church but we have a number of non- or poor readers.

Thanks for the comment, Bryan, I’ll pass it along. I’m not sure how we would redo the video portions for non-readers! But I’ll pass that idea along as well. I can certainly see the need!

I do LOVE the video and the way the content is presented.

Further though on the video tests … My (Dominican) wife, whose English is fluent, saw it and found it went too fast for her to get everything. We have Polish, German, Lithuanian, Libyan, Iraqi and several African nations represented in our church. As well as various non-readers. None of them would be able to follow and get the impact of the message!

According to the NALS study, 14% of USA can’t read. A further 29% are FUNCTIONALLY non-literate. Add to that a further 44% of Americans who DON’T WANT to read and you will see why we MUST tailor our message to the oral learner!

I will pass that along. Generally, however, the purpose of the video is mobilization in the USA. (There are other “video” videos out there for raising UPG awareness, such as those produced by the Ethne prayer initiative and Create International). This video is primarily a mobilization tool that we use in the USA. IMHO although we certainly work with non-literates in other cultural settings, I theorize it would be very difficult for a very-non-literate person to be in our agency (or most/all agencies for that matter) as a cross-cultural worker.
