There’s lots of stuff being written about time management, about getting to Inbox Zero, about reaching your goals faster, about building in margins.
Great stuff: if you know what your goals are (or should be). If your goals have a reason, a vision, behind them.
There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently what should not be done at all.
Effectiveness is not a measure of impact. It is a measure of how well the Promise is being fulfilled, of how the Vision is being brought into Reality.
If you do not have a Vision, a Promise, a Standard, you cannot know if you are being effective or not.
You can only know if you are “better” than someone else by some measure that will be meaningless at the end of this life.
