When one generation is parenting the next generation, a shift has begun. Right now the generational “constellation” is:
- Retired: Silents, mostly in retirement (e.g. Colin Powell, Woody Allen, etc.)
- Elders: Boomers, the oldest of whom are moving into retirement, and the youngest of whom are still active (e.g. from Clinton, Bush, Obama)
- Midlife: 13ers/Xers, mostly in upper/middle management (e.g. me
- Young Adult: Millennials (UK’s Princes).
- Rainbows: in childhood.
