Small beginnings…

June 11, 2011

…may not be fast enough to get you where you want to go, but still they should not be despised.

When a people group is adding tens of thousands of new babies per year, distributing a few hundred copies of Scripture may seem inconsequential.

But if it’s an experiment that could be reproduced in greater scale, it could be very worthwhile—because a few hundred today could be thousands tomorrow.

Small beginnings can tell you a lot about what is possible or not, without great cost. When someone tells you something is “impossible,” it might be worth a small experiment to find out if it really is—or if it’s just imagined to be impossible.

Sooner or later, though, you’ve got to see a small beginning get big. If it’s not going to scale up, it ought to be abandoned.
