When you find a kindred spirit

May 22, 2011

If you are sharing your vision and someone says, “Hey—that’s my vision too”—do you know what you do then?

If you are all about seeing the vision fulfilled, the first step is to tell it, the second step is finding people who share it, and the third step is to do something about it.

There’s no sense in worrying about the third step until you’re good at the first. But once you’re getting pretty good at the first, it’s time to think about the second.

First question to ask your new friend: “Do you want to do something about it?”

Second question to ask: “Do you know anyone else who might think the same way we do?”

Third question: “Do you have any ideas about what we can do? Let’s get some coffee and talk about it!”

(But don’t stop sharing the vision with others, too. Your first job is to get more and more people together who appreciate the vision.)
