How much longer?

How long are you giving your vision?

Some people’s commitment to their vision lasts only as long as their enthusiasm. But all too soon the enthusiasm dies away—perhaps over a good night’s sleep, like a New Year’s Resolution.

Some commitments last a month or two—long enough to try to raise the funds and fail to do so in a flash.

It’s not easy to commit the rest of your life to a vision you don’t know if you can achieve. But every failure becomes a cross-roads, where you have to decide whether to give up or continue on and give it one more try.

Thomas Edison said he found 10,000 ways not to make a light bulb. He pursued the light bulb through 10,000 different failures. He believed it was possible to succeed.

Other people have tried visions and found them to be impossible, given up, and gone on to do other things.

Knowing how long to give your vision—knowing when to give up and when to pursue—is a critical skill to develop.
