I read this and find it intriguing. The difference between a business and a voluntary group–like a church–is that whereas the business only has to be accountable to its owner(s) in making strategic decisions, the church has to be accountable both to God and its many constituents groups and members and find ways to “hear” their voices and involve them in decision-making. Having said that, there’s a lot of merit in having small groups of leaders wrangle with the issues and distill the decision points into their essences for larger discussion.
