But if the international community is in the dark about China’s 21st-century trajectory, it is likely because there is no real consensus among the Chinese themselves.

What role will the church in China play? Many future Chinese leaders may be in churches today. What % of China’s existing leaders are Christians? The “grass roots” politics is far more important today than the top level politics – because grass roots leaders today will be regional and national leaders tomorrow.
This is one of the reasons it is so important today to support the Chinese church. And one reason why the lack of Bibles in China (still!) is a terrible thing.
