Missions to the unreached – even in restricted access nations – is not impossible.
And lest you think God is not calling people there for whatever reason a sovereign God might have, that’s not true. People are right now being called to difficult places (like Libya, Afghanistan, Algeria, etc.) and are responding to that call.
In the past two weeks in our podcasts we have heard about several partnerships to reach Muslims, be it Somalis in America or Libyans in the Middle East. There are literally thousands of people working in these difficult places. I know numerous other partnerships which I can’t even talk publicly about, but where new missionaries are being deployed to hard to reach Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and more.
If you feel called to do something about an unreached group – or if you feel even the “beginnings” of a call, but you don’t know where, then act on it! Because there are partners out there who will help you.
My own agency, Mission to Unreached Peoples, is one: small but stable and growing fast with a passion for the unreached. Others include Pioneers, Operation Mobilization, WEC, New Tribes Mission, the IMB, WorldVenture, and more. You name it. There are plenty of people out there who can help you discern and passionately go after your calling.
But you have to take the first step and say, “Here am I–I want to be sent.”
If you want to talk to me about it, just email me at justinlong@gmail.com.

Hey Justin – good thoughts here. But don’t leave out a need for the Bible in your list of agencies with a passion for the unreached. As Ralph Winter used to say, a group is not “reached” until it has both a healthy church and a Bible they can understand.
Your blurb just gives me a chance to remind folks of the need for both!
Absolutely, Ted. Thanks for the reminder!
